Africa Health Workforce Observatory The Observatory promotes, develops and sustains the knowledge base for HRH in the African region in order to provide evidence for informed health policy decisions. Monitoring and sharing of both positive and negative practices and experiences is part of the Observatory's mandate. African Atlas of the Health Workforce The African Atlas of the Health Workforce is an online database containing the best available information on the health workforce in the African Region. It is updated on a regular basis. Asia Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health The Alliance is a regional partnership that works to strengthen country capacity for human resources for health (HRH) planning and management. The website offers the latest HRH information and news from the region. Eastern Mediterranean Region Observatory on Human Resources for Health The purpose of the EMR Observatory on HR for Health is to assist Member States in using a proactive approach and sharing the best and most innovative options to tackle HRH-related challenges. Eldis Human Resources for Health Dossier The dossier is produced by the Health Resources Centre and Eldis in collaboration with WHO and the World Bank. It is an information resource which offers up-to-date information about how to address human resources issues and challenges. European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies The European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies works to "support and promote evidence-based health policy-making through comprehensive and rigorous analysis of the dynamics of health care systems in Europe". The website contains a section specifically dedicated to health human resources in the region. Global Health Workforce Alliance The Alliance brings together key partners dedicated to identifying and implementing solutions to the health workforce crisis. It serves as an international information hub and monitoring body. Global Health Workforce Alliance Advocacy Working Group (AWG) The AWG is dedicated to one of GHWA's core functions, namely to keep human resources for health at the top of the agenda at country, regional and international level. Chaired by Eric Friedman (PHR), this working group's operational model is to make the case for a prolonged effort in health workforce priority-setting using evidence from GHWA and GHWA partners' research, as well as coordinating GHWA's public information. Health Metrics Network The Health Metrics Network is an international collaboration focused on strengthening country health information systems to generate sound data for decision-making at country and global levels. Health Systems 20/20 This USAID global health project works to strengthen health systems by using an integrated approach to address the financing, governance, operational, and capacity constraints to the use of life-saving priority health services. The website contains a Health Systems Database that compiles and analyzes country data from multiple sources, provides charting options, and generates automated country fact sheets, helping users to assess the performance of the country's health systems. Health Workforce Australia This website aims to update you with information on Australia's health workforce, health workforce planning, and activities of the various national health workforce advisory committees that report to the Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council (AHMAC) and Australian Health Ministers. Health Workforce Bulletin Offers the latest news on employment trends in health care with a focus primarily on the UK. Healthcare Workforce Portal The healthcare workforce portal provides one-stop access to healthcare workforce planning information, knowledge, intelligence and practical tools. This site is provided by the NHS Skills for Health - Workforce Projects Team in the United Kingdom. HRH Action Framework The HRH Action Framework website has been developed as an initiative of the Global Health Workforce Alliance and represents a joint effort between the U.S. Agency for International Development and the World Health Organization. Its purpose is to aid governments and health managers in devising effective workforce strategies. It offers a technical framework for HRH featuring a number of interactive fields including, HR management systems, leadership, partnership, policy, etc. HRH Global Resource Center The HRH Global Resource Center is a knowledge management service provided by the Capacity Project (www.capacityproject.org). The initiative is funded by USAID and is designed to strengthen human resources for health. HRH Tool Compendium The HRH Tool Compendium provides online access to tools and resources for HR planning, management and development. International Labour Organization Health Services Sector This section of ILO's website offers access to information about employment trends, gender issues, labour standards and relations, working conditions, workplace violence, and more. International Centre on Nurse Migration ICNM is a joint initiative of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools and the International Council of Nurses. Its mission is to serve as a global resource for the development, promotion and dissemination of research, policy and information on nurse migration. International Council of Nurses Global Nursing Workforce Project This website features information and publications resulting from a recently completed research and global consultation initiative undertaken by the International Council of Nurses to document the state of today's nursing workforce and inform future policy. International Council of Nurses National Nurses Association Membership List This section of ICN's website provides access to contact details for national nursing associations in membership with the Council. Nursing Health Services Research Unit The Nursing Health Services Research Unit is a collaborative project of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Nursing and McMaster University, School of Nursing. The overall goals of the research Unit are to conduct research and other forms of inquiry, to provide the information necessary for evidence-based policy and management decisions about the effectiveness, quality, equity, utilization, and efficiency of health care and health services in Ontario with a particular focus on nursing services, and to develop a joint mechanism for knowledge transfer between the MOHLTC and the NHSRU to ensure the best and most recent evidence is used to guide evidence-based policy and management decision making. Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Human Resources for Health Care This site offers information about OECD's Health Project- Human Resources for Health Care. Spotlight on Statistics Spotlight on Statistics is a series of fact files on health workforce statistics produced by the Department of Human Resources for Health, World Health Organization. The Health Manager's Toolkit by Management Sciences for Health This site hosts a searchable compenduim of tools designed to assist professionals working in health services. The webiste is available in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The Observatory of Human Resources in Health The Americas The observatory website offers information and resources about its operations in the various countries of this region. Training Health Managers: 10 Years Experience in Latin America An e-book of interest to health care managers. Working in Health: Workforce Observatory This site, run by the NHS Scottish Executive, offers free access to workforce intelligence in Scotland (e.g. research, evaluation, tools, case studies, statistics, etc). World Bank Human Resources The Human Resources section of the World Bank's website houses information, statistical data, tools, etc. related to health human resources. World Health Organization Department of Human Resources for Health This site contains information and resources related to WHO's activities aimed at strengthening Member States capacity to plan, educate and manage their health workforce. World Health Organization Global Atlas of the Health Workforce The WHO Global Atlas of the Health Workforce provides data (e.g. density, employment status, gender, age, etc.) on health workers in WHO's 192 Member States. World Health Organization Office of Nursing and Midwifery The WHO Office of Nursing and Midwifery web page offers information about WHO's strategic directions and activities aimed at strengthening nursing and midwifery services in its Member States.
